Kansas City Chiefs teammate predicts Taylor Swift, Travis Kelce get engaged
Mark J. Rebilas/USA TODAY Sports

Kansas City Chiefs long snapper James Winchester is hearing wedding bells already for his teammate Travis Kelce and singer/songwriter Taylor Swift. Despite the duo’s relationship being fairly new – they’ve dated for less than a year – Winchester said on the Like a Farmer podcast this week that Kelce and Swift’s similarities make it seem likely that the Chiefs star will try to put a ring on it.

“I can definitely see it, yeah,” Winchester said. “They’re very similar in a lot of ways. Being around Trav for the last nine years, I mean, I think they’re more similar than you would think.

“I wish the best for them. I’m going to go with what our kicker Harrison Butker said, ‘I hope you guys get married and have a lot of kids.’ So, you know, I’m like ‘hey, go for it, have a family.’ I’m happy for them.”

Winchester: ‘She’s such a genuine person’

Although Swift became a bit of a sore spot for some NFL fans this season, Winchester has nothing but love for the 52-time Grammy nominee and 14-time Grammy winner.

“I mean I’m a fan of her because being around her this year and hearing everything she’s such a genuine person,” he said. “And where it might’ve gotten old for people seeing all of that posted. For us, it was great. It wasn’t a distraction. Couldn’t be happier for Trav and her and that whole deal. It seems like a really good thing for him and her.

“Then her support all the way through the Super Bowl it was awesome… For those out there who got a little tired of the T Swift stuff when they were watching the Chiefs, I’m sure they got a little tired of them showing them too, so it was a mutual thing there. Getting to meet her family and have conversations with them throughout the year was fun.”

Erin Andrews deflects credit for Swift-Kelce relationship

Fox Sports reporter Erin Andrews is happy seeing Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift together but does not want any credit for the relationship. In a recent interview with the New York Post, Andrews was asked about being responsible for Kelce dating Swift.

“We don’t take any credit for that! We just had fun with it,” Andrews said, referring to the Calm Down podcast, which she hosts with Charissa Thompson.

One of the world’s most popular relationships started when Andrews and Thompson talked about getting Kelce together with Swift on the podcast. “We said, you know, ‘Hey Taylor, date Travis Kelce! He’s so fabulous! Do it for America!’” Andrews said. “We just had fun with it.”

When Swift talked about the relationship in an interview Time magazine in December, she mentioned Kelce’s call out on the New Heights podcast being the thing that got it started.

“This all started when Travis very adorably put me on blast on his podcast, which I thought was metal as hell,” Swift said at the time. “We started hanging out right after that. So we actually had a significant amount of time that no one knew, which I’m grateful for because we got to get to know each other.

“By the time I went to that first game, we were a couple. I think some people think that they saw our first date at that game? We would never be psychotic enough to hard launch a first date.”
